There are a lot of pokemon that look great on paper with trick room support.
The problem is trick room itself is an awkward move. With no way of extending its effect, at best you get 3 turns of it and thats with a raw switch/your opponent killing your trick room setter. Meanwhile you've just given your opponent 2 free turns themselves.
Where's our trick room ability gamefreak?

the thing about other auto-abilities is there's multiple variants that cancel each other out, imo TR would need something like that so you could actually counterplay it. If you adjusted Magic and Wonder Room's effects into something more viable, and maybe added a fourth one, I think that'd work.
