I always think of this story that happened 2 years ago on this day

>Visiting family for Thanksgiving
>One of my older cousins kid (8 or 9 at the time) is playing pokemon sun
>I go up and show interest
>He shows me his best pokemon
>surprisingly hes actually got a lot of level 100s
>remember I brought my 3ds in my car
>Offer to battle him
>"I never lose, I'm the pokemon master among my friends" he says
>I've been pokemon years before he was even conceived, I will show him what a true pokemon master is
>I pull out my competitive team
>Breed for perfect IVs and EV trained team
>He has no idea whats about to hit him
>He of course uses all legendaries
>I whip out actual competitive strategy against him
>I win
>He starts complaining I cheated because there's no way all his legendary pokemon could lose to my non legends
>I was going to start explaining to him the world of EVs and IVs
>Just before I was about to his mom walks up hearing him screaming
>"anon cheated! He's not playing the game right!"

>She starts getting mad at me for "going too hard on her kid over a game"
>family starts to join his side and ask why didn't I just let him win
>He is calling me a cheater
>There is literally nothing I can do
>There is no way I can even begin to explain the complexities of competitive mechanics to my family
>Just say "sorry I'll go easy next time" just to get them off my back
>Very snotty, he says "Pokemon Masters don't cheat" before storming off
>MFW I spent hours of my life building a perfect team just to get called a cheater by some 9 year old who only uses legendaries
