His previous interviews, where he talked about how he suffered from nightmares about how he thought R/S was gonna flop and end the series, and then saying that he felt the same kind of fear with Sword/Shield, makes me actually feel sorry for him, because I genuinely do think he does care about the fans. He's known for saying stupid shit when it comes to PR (and I don't know if he's the one that actually comes up with those excuses or not), but I feel like he's not that genuine when he says stuff like that, in terms of how much he himself believes in it, compared to how excited and passionate he sounded about trying to include ideas for games like BW and FRLG
