I didn't say there are no side quests, I said the only interesting ones are 2 side quests (admittedly, the rock puzzle counts as another one, so make it 3)
There's nothing interesting about the minccino search, just a fetch quest. The mystery in the hotel is also not even remotely as interesting but is more of a meme than anything
No idea whatsoever what you found in the battle cafes or with the seafood guy. I'm well aware how usual pokemon games go, and none of them have been this bland and boring with their npc dialogue. There are always more instances of interesting/intentionally vague/suggestive/mysterious dialogue in a typical game than in SwSh. Towns are definitely not as boring and empty as SwSh either
There are designated buildings with things to do in some, there are named facilities in towns, houses arent all just identical copypastas. You have at least SOME that hold an item or have a second floor, or depending on the region, have a secret exit to a balcony etc
SwSh houses are all a 1room copypasta with 1-2 npcs and maybe pokemon inside. You can't ever find the occasional item, only a few npcs in the entire game give you anything in a house at all. There's nothing interesting to interact with inside the houses either
Same goes for the cities/towns. The majority are just houses/gym/pokecenter. Bigger cities have copypasta hotels/inns with only a single floor where nothing interesting happens (the mystery is the only notable meme there) to go with the standard gym/pc/houses outlooks, and also locked stores you that you can't enter.
The occasional battle cafe/1 single restaurant exists too, but again, no idea what you found in there that was memorable
Even a giant fucking fortress city had nothing in it that you can visit or explore...Literally the most interesting things a town offered is climbing the rooftops of one single city and Circhester having a public bath that is there for decor(dont make me start on Wyndon even..)
