>>41626993I'm glad you ask! The greater enjoyment to be had, atleast in my case, lies in the improvements on the game's QoL itself. Breeding? Super easy, you'll get mountains of 4 to 5 IV monsters from raids. EV Training? Farming money is a breeze, I can buy all vitamins I need for a specific monster and then level them up with EXP Candies I got from the earlier raids in (and this is no exaggeration, it's the actual counted number) less than 2 minutes. Add that to other things like Surprise Trades that happen in the background and other "passive" online features I genuinely have the feeling that I have never had to stop to do any busywork in the game, and that's insane because I already have 90 hours of playtime on it, usually by this point I already had shit I was annoyed at.
Another point is that seeing monsters in the overworld really is neat. They're not even complex presences, but things like seeing wimpods really run the hell away from me while a croagunk tries to chase me while I have to dodge Stunfisks trying to bite me in the ground just felt very fun, and it does make you want to capture a monster more when you see them in the wild. I've captured stuff I usually wouldn't bother with just because seeing that Lapras right there made me want to approach it.
Of course there's the other shit that will weigh on you like how much you like the galar dex's new designs, how much short and crappier routes and less monsters matters to you and so on that might heavily influence how much fun you'll have with it, but me? I haven't had this much fun since BW2.
