There are too many legendary Pokémon. Permanently culling a good chunk of them and refraining from introducing new ones would be good for the series.

I know you're probably baiting and don't believe what you're writing, but you aren't wrong, there ARE Pokemon due culling.
However, the issue is that with the deletion should come the increase of the quality of the games. SwSh is just a sequel to SM, but with higher resolution, fewer Pokemon and 20 dollars more expensive.

These are the legendaries and mythicals that should stay:

I'd feel pretty darn bad losing the bird trio and Silvally, and I actually think keeping the Hoenn box mascots is overdoing it, but this is the most impartial, objective list of what to keep. Everything else should go, forever.

20 Total. Hurts cutting the Lati's, Darkrai, and a few others. But there's so many Legendary mons, they hardly feel special anymore. These are the most notable/most prominent of them all.

Not my fault legendary designs went completely off the rails with Gen 4. Like I said I don't really want to include Hoenn'x box mascots, but having Mewtwo, Ho-Oh and Lugia as the only 680 BST "true ubers" is not sufficient.
