Like maybe I fucking missed something (I played UM and ragequit before the RR episode thing); SM don't sound much better with Lillie and Lusamine just fucking off to Kanto without him and leaving him to... he becomes president of Aether? What the fuck? All that talk about how going back there would be being trapped again and he just gets fucking locked up there. I mean I guess at least he's not fucking homeless anymore, right??
And to a lesser degree Nanu and Hau get the short end of the stick; Nanu for obvious reasons and Hau for everything in the narrative blatantly pushing him towards being the next kahuna when he obviously doesn't want to at all. Like, even his Pokemon apparently. Fuck that one veteran who talked about "freedom" and then after you beat him he amends it to "for Pokemon from their trainers lol". Some animals are more equal than others I guess. And there's no resolution for how the punks ended up as Skull grunts just for flunking out of their trials, just some random talk abot you "making the trials mean something again!!" that goes nowhere and does nothing. This entire region's culture is just fucked and nobody cares.
... So anyway, I got so fucking pissed about all this I crafted an elaborate narrative where the Tapus need to be fucking removed from the islands or the world with end and where Gladion goes and lives at Olivia's house and is doted on by her and Hau and is owed an apology by everyone. And I'm fucking dumb so I'm gonna learn Blender just so I can animate this and turn it into a visual novel/walking simulator so Gladion can live happily in one timeline at least.
Post Gladion being treated nicely by others, if that even exists, I guess.
