Because they fucked up in development.

Regular Dynamax should just be getting the Power Boosted moves.

Gigantamax should have been the ones who gets the moves with the special effects.

I think the idea was to make it so that Gigantamax is a sidegrade instead of a straight upgrade

Otherwise, you'd see nothing but Gigantamaxes and regular Dynamax would be completely ignored in the competitive scene. Plus Gigantamax is banned in ranked battles anyway.

Hatterene seems like an upgrade. It's not worrying about status move anyway thanks to magic bounce, whereas its confusion can give it extra RNG kills.

Doesn't Charizard's work like a hazard more than just fire spin? In that it effects anything on the opponent's side, even switch-ins?

I think the fuck up was other, gigas were supposed to give stats, Masuda said they were more than just aparience at some point and Snorlax's description imply it should be stronger than the others when is just Recycle.
