Since overworld encounters are a thing, why are there no first attack bonuses?
Most (if not all) RPGs with overworld encounters have one of those.
For example, your trainer could have a kick, so when a yamper runs up to you you could kick it in the head and deal some free damage to it at the start of the battle, that'd be cool.
