Who else finds it lame that you can find and catch the Eeveelutions out in the wild? That takes all the fun out of it. Here I was, hoarding stones and leveling up friendship, and I just find level 60 versions of them running around like its nothing.
Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

I'm torn. It makes sense from a lore-perspesctive, since a lot of the Eeveelutions have dex entries that mention habitats and prey. But I agree that from a gameplay perspective it takes away the fun of evolving an Eevee.

I am fine with this since it has been several generations since the Eeveelutions were added, and they are still very rare even in the wild.

They're at a post game area once a day.

They're fine I already evolved them 50 times before and have over 30 of each stone

I don't mind them being in the wild but they should have different locations instead of all in one spot.

I just think it’s really weird finding trade evolutions in the wild. How can they exist without a trainer trading them?

At least for stuff like the Eeveelutions you can argue that they found a stone in the wild or evolved through their friendship with other Pokémon.

Yes, one per day is still rare and you have to wait a bit before the Eeveelutions respawn. Also, that location has all of the evolution stones next to the stone pillars iirc so lore wise it makes sense for Eeveelutions to appear.

Not exactly post game when you can visit it before the seventh gym, but in any case, at that point, I already had most eeveelutions anyway, so I didn't really care that much.

Pokemon with trade evolutions evolve as a factor of their enviroment in a way that a trainer normally wouldn't expose them do unless they did it on purpose.
For example, The Steelix on Iron Island become steel naturally from living on and eating the extremely high iron content of the island, turning into steelix naturally. Since an Onix owned by a trianer won't be spending so much time underground in an iron mine anymore, it won't evolve naturally, but it can still be artificially infused with a metal coat to force it to evolve.

id rather using a stone be like a 5% chance to work at best instead and finding an evolved eevee being only slightly higher of a chance

Once a day is pretty rare when they're dependent on weather conditions to spawn. Even if you check every day it could still take weeks for you to get Jolteon if you're unlucky and never get a thunderstorm in the Lake of Outrage.

I don't see what the problem is even if they were easy to get, it's not like it's difficult to evolve any of them anyways. Plus if you want egg moves (or if you just want perfect IVs/nature without spending tons of battle points) you're going to have to breed and evolve an Eevee anyways.

It would have been a pretty awesome long-con to have had a generation where there was an Eeveelution you could ONLY get in the wild, with no explanation as to where they came from or what made them evolve, until 1 or 2 generations later when the source was revealed in the lore of a sidequest and you could obtain it for the first time.
