They delayed this thing for so fucking long because they wanted to use the (prospective) remake design. They started *backwards* from Serena to Rosa to Hilda, skipped Dawn, did Lyra, May, Selene, fucking Leaf, then Kris, then some of the guy characters, then I guess they finally got tired of waiting because it got announced.
