>>41642874I feel like the potential is wasted on the Switch. The touch screen made menu control so fucking easy and comfortable. I think if they want to make pokemon 1 screen again then battle options should be hotkeyed. Up on the D-pad(or d buttons on the joy cons) should be Fight, Left should be Bag, Right should be Pokémon, and down should be run. Then even further Moveslot 1, 2, 3, and 4, should also be Up, Left, Right and Down respectively. Double tap the button to use a move as to avoid misclicks. 1 click to highlight, 1 more to select. Press the X button in the fight menu to activate the gimmick(mega, z move, Dynamax, Gigantamax) Pressing Y on a highlighted move could act like the information cards from Sun and Moon. Pressing plus or minus on the top menu should act like Sun and Moon's stat boost checking screen. On the top menu Y already hotkeys pokeballs, but X could be the hotkey for last item used. On top of all that you could still use traditional controls by selecting actions with the analog stick and A button.
