It's getting more usage because everyone and their mother builds to counter physical damage. Life Orb + Dynamax is also scary even by Dyanamax standards.

Almost everything lost access to Roost, they realized giving every single flying Pokemon in existence a self heal was retarded. A lot of nearly universally available moves got changed to be more species unique like that.
