Yeah. Cutting out the Ultra Beast hunt in favor of the Rainbow Rocket episode wasn't worth it though. GF seems to have completely abandoned Looker lore.

Honestly Totems Marowak, Lurantis, Togedemaru and Mimikyu all kicked my ass, so on top of that with Necrozma, Hau in Malie City, the Malie Garden Guzma fight, the teacher at the trainer school, etc. it was honestly one of the tougher experiences I've had playing Pokemon, which was a bit of a shock after I found BW, BW2 (regular mode, challenge is great) and XY a bit too easy.

The boss fights in the original games were already pretty fun, but they made it even better here, culminating in Ultra Necrozma

There's a bunch of weird changes to dialogue.
For example lana was a playful trickster type character in sm, but in usum she is completely straight-laced with no humor to her character.
Or that kiawe's trial is trying to be funny in usum, but unless you played sm first, none of the jokes make sense, as well as removing the exeggutor island scene with lillie. And there's more.
It's all just a bunch of really jarring and minuscule changes that make everything but the game play in usum feel really off.

Also the ultra beast hunt with looker and Annabelle was much better than the wormhole ride in usum.

Wtf ultra beasts were better in USUM. You still hunted for Stakataka and Blacephalon and after that you got to go to a unique version of Ultra Space for each of the SM UBs instead of retreading old ground. So what if they're hallways? It's not like the rest of Alola was any better.

this is really the case with the first games with any generation, but this time they had the balls to sell the upgraded version as two games instead of one

Instead of adding actualy adding interesting stuff like a New Island they added shitty gimmicks that no ones cares about, shitty story stuff like Ultra Megalopoles and Rainbow Rocket which was just stupid and unnecessary.

This game is the worst "third version" (aside from Yellow, which isn't even a third version) ever, waste of time.

I tried being ready for it in Ultra Sun, knowing that he would have it, since I picked up a Zorua and he still took me out. Honestly, the boss fights in USUM in particular are quite fantastic, I feel like the game gets a bad wrap difficulty wise because most of the trainers have one pokemon and you get free revives a lot.

It's almost unanimously agreed everywhere that Sun and Moon had a better story during the campaign, while Ultra had far better overall content, such as more wild pokemon without transfer/trading, some of the best Tutors to date, and a whole bunch of QoL additions.
Overall, Ultra is better in the long run, particularly when you can just check the story in cutscenes on YouTube and save $60.

It's got Protect to live your Fairy Z too. And a lot of people who didn't pick Popplio might not have a fairy in that fight.
I really love the totem fights in these games, they did what they could to cover the totem's weaknesses and make it a bit challenging.
