should pokemon home use sprites, png art or 3d models?
because we know the thing will be so basic, that animated 3d models may not be even a thing.

They still look better than they ever did in sprites. What Pokemon sprites should look like is not mainline sprites though. THESE are good sprites, not the pieces of shit from mainline.

this, unironically. contrarian fags will disagree, but there's a reason people love a game with good (not wannabe 8-bit trash) pixel art when we have far exceeded the technological power necessary for 3d graphics. there is a charm in pixel art that does not exist in 3d

You're not wrong. All I'm saying is that if they ever had to go 3D permanently, the Stadium games were the way to do it. Although they still killed the abstraction that made imagining Pokémon battles so fun, at least they looked good while doing it Everything up to XD looks pretty dated, but PBR's visuals hold up amazingly well. SwSh looks like total trash compared to the game made by a third-party developer on a weak console that isn't even in HD from a full decade ago.
