All generations had bad and good things, but this last one is just awful. No only the game, but especially the designs choices.
After all these decades I feel like I can't deal with Pokémon anymore, the only way is ignored Gen 8 completely.

Yeah. I gave up after sun and moon honestly
I don't really know why I'm still here. Haven't been able to leave for weeks now
I like to participate in the drawthreads sometimes at least but I just leech off fanart mostly now
I don't expect these games to bounce back for a while

Same. Generation 8 has such an ugly feel to it. The characters, region, music, and gameplay all suck. And we are stuck with it for 3 years. I do not have hope in next gen being better since this one sold so well. So yeah, dead series to me.

I thought so but then I actually played Sword and liked it. It's not as good as B2W2 or HGSS, but it's still Pokemon. It's better than XY.

I'm mostly hoping we get a new Mystery Dungeon game.

In all honesty, no. I liked SM and USUM. ORAS was okay but I didn't like it as much as original RS. I skipped LGPE because it was another kanto remake without cross gen evos and they removed abilities and held items, one of my favorite parts of the games. The only reason I didn't get SWSH is because I have a switch and I'm saving up my money for something else. I'm waiting for it to be playable on yuzu. If that doesn't work, perhaps I'll buy a switch and wait for the third versions or sinnoh remakes

Weirdly enough, the complete shitshow that was swsh reinvigorated a love for the franchise I haven’t had in a while. I’m not buying the new games, but I might to a tabletop rpg with my friends that includes all the Galar Pokémon I really enjoy.

Not exactly. I still love most Pokemon games all the way up to X&Y, and I even think that SwSh is doing some pretty fun things like the Gym campaign, Wild Area, etc. The main issue is that it's a console title being rushed out the door, and the PR has been a complete shitshow. Pokemon has some life in it, but desperately needs new leadership and management.

I've gotten every game since DP, but then skipped LGPE. I've been continuously disappointed ever since gen 6 and gen 8 is no exception. Think of it this way: We had always wondered in the past what pokemon would be like on console and how awesome it will be. We finally get it and it's mediocre at best. It feels awful.
I'm probably going to be skipping a lot of games until they really prove they get their shit together. Judging by Sw/Sh's sales though? I think we're fucked.

By this point the best you can make out of Pokemon is trading with your friends.
Hell, the addition of mints, egg move transfers, Dynamax reverse sweeps, and the actual stadiums make it clear that gen 8 has esports in mind instead of an engaging journey.

Yell at me all you want, but I didn't feel the games were going bad till ORAS. XY still felt like a step in the right direction for me with all of the new changes, despite some steps back and lack of endgame content. ORAS fixed some of XY's problems but was really pandering, SM was passable but underwhelming, and I skipped LGPE. But since USUM it seems like GameFreak has shifted to minimal effort & pandering as a business strategy. These new games just feel like some kind of sick joke. The worst part? SWSH is probably gonna make records; almost everyone I know with a Switch has a copy.
