I'm pretty sure none of the trio names are official besides the forces of nature and the swords of justice (though that's a quartet).

As for WHY the tao trio became the widespread name? Yin and yang (and the boundary between them) are a huge part of taoism.

They're not programmed into this game because they're going to be programmed into the DP remakes. BW aren't going to get remade because they didn't sell.

I dislike them because they're not official and sound forced. It's like how Bulbapedia tried nicknaming every Gen like how Gen I was "The color Generation", Gen II was "The metal Generation", and Gen V was "The monochrome Generation", "according to fans". The people calling them these things are like maybe a few hundred people ever, and most likely because Bulbapedia told them that people call them that. Nobody says "The metal Generation", they say Gen II/2.

Anyway, legendary bird (でんせつのとり) is an actual term used in the first games, but most other terms were never used anywhere.
