USUM was pretty bland, but I didn't hate it. Well, I hated Hau, but from what I hear, Hop is worse.

Though /vp/ didn't like it much, something I did enjoy was XY and ORAS. I actually liked ORAS' bronze/silver/gold/platinum crown thing on each of the routes. It made me want to catch 'em all.

Hop is in no way worse than Hau. Yes, he's annoying, but at the very least he has the bare bones of a character arc and (flimsy as they are) reasons that he's wasting your goddamn time. I swear half of the time Hau showed up it was to point at a pokemon center that was just off screen, where I was clearly fucking going, and yell "malasadas" with an unrelenting grin. Hop at least attempts to engage with the plot. Hau needs a lobotomy.
