Unless by "fuck it up" you mean completely destroying the games balance, then no. Yes Gardevoir is too fast for Trick Room normally but having auto Trick Room on such an otherwise strong Pokemon is still ridiculously overpowered. Auto Trick Room would be good even on fucking Ninjask.

Trick room is too extreme to be an auto-ability, I feel like
you can just invalidate some teams before even starting, and there is really no way to play around it since there's barely any good priority anymore, not to mention psychic terrain

It do not matter.
As long as you can pivot into the auto trick room setter, that ability breaks the game.
Gardevoir even gets healing wish to bring stuff in safely or heal something up lategame.

Offensive teams would adapt to an auto trick room meta in two ways
1. They bring their own trick rooms setters to negate the opponents
2. They start bringing defensive backbones to try and outstall the trick room turns, at which point they're balance teams and no longer offense teams

Auto Trick-Room would be fine in singles if it was on something otherwise shitty, like say Chimecho. But in doubles you could give it to utter dogshit like Cosmog, one of the most awful Pokemon imaginable, and it'd still absolutely break the game.

Well a regular offensive team wouldn't be able to function normally in a meta with auto trickroom.
You'd auto lose any matchup against that mon.

How about instead of auto trick room, we get an ability that's something like "when this Pokemon faints, it creates a trick room". This way you can only do it once and there's a bit more strategy involved (do I do a turn one memento strategy to get a quick TR and safely bring something in, or do I save this Pokemon to sack later when I might not have an opportunity to set up TR conventionally?).

Gardevoir was used as a trick room setter a couple generations ago so it's not like it's unheard of. Plus I'm bitter that Gardevoir has never been particularly good so if anyone deserves a busted ability it's Gardevoir

Porygon honestly makes the most sense. I'm not sure how they could include it.

Maybe make 3 new "regional" forms of Porygon Z?
Porygon-Z (T Form) = Trick Room
Porygon-Z (M Form) = Magic Room
Porygon-Z (W Form) = Wonder Room

Like "just evolve Porygon 2 while it knows Trick Room and you'll get Porygon-ZT"

In Doubles? Absolutely. In Singles it could be balanced if the pokemon was an Unown-tier shitmon, because you'd have to switch it in and out again, giving your opponent time to set up or deal damage to your switch-in. In Doubles though? You only have to switch it in while a slow ally Protects, then for 4 turns you can wreck shit.
