Adventures places all its importance on a bunch of children with Pokedexes. Everything revolves around the "Dex holders." Then they give these children and other people ridiculous superpowers, like Lance's ability to work Hyper Beam like Darkseid's Omega Beams, or Agatha's Arbok being able to change its natural belly patterns with each giving it some special bonus. The writing is also all over the place; it can't decide whether it wants to be faithful, or its own thing; it can't decide if it wants to be super edgy, or lighthearted and fun; whether it's good or pure shlock. Then you have the people that claim it's the best Pokemon media ever, and it's totally untouchable, when you have shit like the entirety of the BW series that STILL hasn't wrapped up.
It's overrated to an extreme degree, and isn't anywhere near as good as its starkest defenders claim.
