oh i was very close to saying outside of Alder but only half his team is bugs, and Guzma is a bug type specialist too but i think he's weaker than elite 4 status

Alder is a good counterpoint though so i cannot say where he stands

E4 status doesn’t really mean anything since they canonically get swapped out all willy nilly, hell Acerola took the job just because Nanu didn’t want it

Autism spitballing for a regional variant was a steel/bug with the motif of an APC and scorpions carrying babies which had hard metallic shielding against sandstorms and also wasn't damaged by Skorupi's training. Of course, it doesn't really make sense because you can find the line in deserts in some games already.

I think one, maybe 2 if it's a full roster, Pokemon that don't fit the type but fit the theme of the trainer is okay. Like Piers using a Toxtricity for his rematches. A specialist's ace should match their type though.
