>>41693753The act of playing pokemon and team building is still relatively enjoyable, but these are still the worst pokemon games in the franchise both content-wise and the effect it as culturally on the fandom.
On a cultural level these are about as equal of a blemish as the pokemon culling between the gameboy and GBA generation. Emerald might have redeem the Hoenn region somewhat but even as a kid I remember hating the amount of features cut between GSC and RSE before even considering the fact that I had lost all my pokemon I had caught and trained previously.
Even before you take into account the poor presentation and dex culling from SwSh, even the content that is present in SwSh isn't really good and in most cases just purposely built to be tedious and unfun. The base content is bare-bones with an extremely rushed 2/3rds of the campaign and a borderline non-existent post-game. But more importantly the pieces of repeatable content that is there to try to give the game a longer tail are just boring and grindy. The battle tower is extremely lacking in content even when compared to previous battle towers and can pretty much be completed in a night even without a super powerful team. But on top of that because of the removal of tower boss BP bonuses and streak bonuses simply grinding BP is now more tedious than before, especially now with the addition of nature mints on top of bottle caps you now have more reason than ever to actually try to acquire BP.
Then finally you have the vapid hellscape known as Max Raids and trying to get the flame orb and toxic orb from Ball Guy. Raids suck, they're too easy to the point that they might as well be press A combined with low spawn rates for good shit and Ball Guy's rewards are simply fucked. It's borderline Korean MMO level tedious grinds in a game ironically being praised for its lack of grinding.
TL;DR SwSh has barely any content and the content it does have doesnt even have the decency to respect your fucking time.
