The drum monkey is clearly a better fit for the Alolan theme and Robin Hood owl is obviously a Galarian pokemon. There are no monkies (besides humans) in the UK but there are plenty of very special and rare owls. But obviously some idiot decided to swap them as sun/moon lacked a big seller. This is also why Inteleon's second and third stage designs were changed so late on to adapt it to try and fit the 'cool' role for the starter trio.
