I have 120 hours with the game and other than finishing the pokedex the only thing I have to show for my time is a perfect IV/natured shiny umbreon with wish and yawn egg moves and a box full of HA mons with shitty IVs and natures that are essentially unusable online. The grind is real.

You still need to grind just as much, but tedious shit like farming watts to trade with the digging duo for wishing pieces/bottle caps, or again farming watts to buy luxury balls which are sold to pay for vitamins. The only difference from older entries is that instead of hatching eggs you spend most of your time doing loops around the wild area and resetting dens.

They should really just remove IV's and make a pokemons abilities Interchangeable. And EV's should be changed too, make it less tedious than grinding a specific pokemon for an hour or two. I'm thinking that you just set the stats yourself, theres no reason not to.

That too. You can bypass it for bottlecaps, but yeah getting hold items and nature mints sucks, which is why I focus almost entirely on natures and hidden ability when breeding and fix shitty IVs the easy way by rolling at the digging duo.

Showdown is not the actual game, it doesn't even emulate it well.

They have their own rules and mechanics, and they aren't even legally allowed to operate.

I've gotten three bottlecaps from a single dig from the reward-focused guy. It's pure RNG, keep going. He also hit 18 items from a single dig once even though he's supposed to tire after 2-3.

If you reach great ball tier online you can get 3 sets of jolly/timid mints and 200 bp. Not sure if you can double up or not with single and doubles but that’s not too hard. Mints aren’t really meant to be something you do for every Pokémon.

It’s seasonal so it’ll take awhile unfortunately. It also doesn’t do anything for people trying to get Pokémon to get to that point in the first place, but the freebie rain team is pretty good all things considered.

A meta implies that only a few options and strategies are viable.
That should never be the case. I'm not saying a weedle should be able to 1v1 a Gyarados, but Beedrill should have a place along side Gyqrados and Gengar.

That'd fuck the singleplayer balance, and even if the game were balanced around postgame and multiplayer, it's basically impossible to ensure nearly 900 (or hell, less than half that after Dexit) different Pokemon are balanced.
