>>41702531As a Squirtle fan, I didn't really mind the Charizard fellating given that Blue's Blastoise was pretty badass in his own right. Poor Venusaur really got the shaft, though.
However, I still think it was pretty lame. It would've benefited from having its episode count doubled, because as it stands, Red just comes across as kind of a buffoon who powerleveled his starter. I like that he fumbled his way through his first Gym battle, but it would've been nice to see more of him learning the ropes and handling the next few more skillfully. The only parts that stand out to me were Charizard vs Blastoise and Mega Charizard vs Mewtwo (which, to be fair, was a pretty neat fight). Pokespecial's RGB arc remains the best Gen 1 adaptation.
