They won't. GF doesn't have plans to develop successors to a game that sold below expectations. But I could see them using the assets for the inevitable Gen 4 remake which is even worse.

I would buy it if Pokemon were properly scaled like LGPE, you could have all Pokémon follow you, and you could ride Pokémon like Lugia. Genuinely better experience than SwSh

If so, it probably will not feature Lugia and Ho-Oh as version mascots. It will likely be Togepi and either Marill or Suicune.

The only way I could see 2 remake releases is if Sw/Sh released early in the Switch lineup/
But since its in it's midlife right now, I could only ever see 1 release, either being Lets Go Gen 2 or Gen 4 Remake

Game Freak also said they had no plans to remake Ruby and Sapphire 2 months before announcing ORAS. Game Freak aren't going to talk about games not even announced, when they're still concentrating on Sword and Shield.
