Every day passes is another day closer to him being ousted and his whole operation to save the region being dashed or worse, suppressed by those taking over his company.
He couldn't wait because either he feared he wasn't going to be the CEO tomorrow, or knew he was about to be forced out as soon as the tournament was over.
So in desperation, he did what he did. Sure it's not optimal, but at least it'll get solved.
Then have the post game reveal it was those brother's company were the two, or heck, connect it to another game (puppet company owned by Giovanni / evil dude would be a fun setup)
You could also do it with that his company's board would rather not deal with it and wanted to suppress it (and get rid of Rose.) Makes the same situation.
