Pokémon Adventures is a manga series authored by Hidenori Kusaka. It was illustrated Mato for the first nine volumes and starting from Volume 10 it has been illustrated by Satoshi Yamamoto. It is published by Shogakukan under the Ladybird Comics Special series. It debuted in Japan on March 3rd, 1997.
Satoshi Tajiri once stated that the Pocket Monsters Special series is closest to what he imagined the Pokémon world to be: "This is the comic that most resembles the world I was trying to convey."
It always surprises me that there are fans who aren't familiar with the material. It has a reputation as being somewhat edgy, but not everyone agrees. I thought I'd upload the first volume to expose the material to any anons who haven't had a chance to read it yet or may have been avoiding it because they heard it was too edgy.
So, without further ado, here's Volume 1, which begins the story of Red, a Pokemon Trainer from Pallet Town that seeks counsel from Professor Oak in order to improve his skills, and in doing so, acquires a Pokedex, beginning his journey.
