>>41718933We see them clearly in the game through the uniform shop. They have uniforms designed for all the types that aren't in the Major League of that given game. This includes having Bea's and Gordie's available in Shield and Allister & Melony's in Sword.
Allister, Bea, Melony and Gordie also show the Minor/Major League system themselves. They all "exist" in both games, seeing how they appear on the rare cards together and how Gordie is literally Melony's son. It's just in Sword, Bea & Gordie got to be majors while Allister & Melony were minor league and vice-versa in Shield.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if a year from now they announce a Sword & Shield 2 to specifically use all this.
>Older Marnie and Bede keeping Dark and Fairy gyms in the majors>All the other gyms swapped with ones that were minor this time>If they still have 2 version exclusive gym sets, then that would cover literally all 18 types>>41718979>>41719097Could be where a Ground Major gym goes when they're in the majors.
Also, Melony's gym fits her city way more than Gordie's, so it kinda evens out.
