Since the games have been out for a few weeks now, what does everyone think of the Gen 8 Pokémon? What is your favorite, which ones ended up growing on you, etc.?

I hated most of them when they leaked.
But they grew on me. I understand what Turner wanted to do, making dumb looking creatures.
But I hope gen 9 will have an other "theme".

Intelleon and Noice Eiscue are still awful though.

Grookey line has really grown on me. The other starters are abominations that I choose to ignore the existence of. Corviknight is my favourite although I am a bit sad my old friend skarmory is irrelevant now. Sandaconda and Applin family are cool and I'm really glad Sirfetch'd and Galarian Weezing exist.
I've forgotten every other pokemon already.

I think of it the same way I think of the gen 5 dex. The good designs are absolutely amazing imo (corviknight, centiskorch, copperajah, dragapult, grimmsnarl, runerigus, obstagoon, orbeetle, toxtricity), but the bad designs are some of the worst in the series (eiscue, inteleon, thievul, eldegoss, coalossal, cramorant, indeedee, duraludon, mr rime, pincurchin). Not a lot of in-between.

Love a few, like a lot, hate a few. Which is pretty much what every new generation boils down to, at least for me. Polteageist, Carkoal, Copperajah and Silicobra have grown on me a lot and I don't dislike Alcremie anymore.Coalossal and the starters remain huge disappointments on the other hand. Perrserker, Obstagoon, Appletun, the Impidimp line and Greedent are still my favourites

I loved Dragapult line since leak. Now i am not so sure anymore. Mainly because it lacks a good ghost physical besides force I hated all starters since leak. Cinderace grew on me though

I still can't find it in me to like them. They just look like reject Pixar characters. Honestly, I don't think these designs will ever grow on me. They're just too over designed, yet all the shapes are so simple, and colors are too bold, and everything has those stupid cutesy eyes.

Really having a hard like time finding something to like here, and sincerely hope we go back to previous design mentalities in gen 9.

Also, how crazy is it that people are already hoping gen 9 will be better when gen 8 only started like a month ago. Fuck, how do you kill interest in a franchise that quickly. IDK, still haven't bought/played the games and my only exposure to them have been casuals on twitter drawing fan art of the punk girl in the pink dress.

No, you got stockholm syndrome with a design.

The vast majority are shit with ugly as hell designs, dumb choices, furry anthro shit that the furfags will defend to hell and back because of course they will, and are just all around unappealing. A few interesting concepts but are just that. And no, a good concept =/= good design. Most of the Pokemon this gen feel like they're from entirely different series.

My personal favorites are Falinks and Mr. Rime, and even those I feel could've easily had their designs improved. Overall easily the worst generation we've had, the most terrible designs and the fewest good (or even decent) designs.

Dracovish, Mr. Rime, and Perrserker have grown on me.
Drizzile is my least favorite Pokemon here; it is so off putting.

I run a timid (-atk + spd) set and it really takes people by surprise. If he only had maybe 10 more SPA it would be amazing. I have gotten Will-o-wisp in the face many times as people expect physical which is essentially a free turn for me.

Run Shadow ball, Draco Meteor, Thunderbolt and U-turn for now. Considering replacing meteor with something safer to use. Rotating between specs, likfe orb and expert belt right now to see what sticks.

But yeah he is all right to use, but I dont feel he does anything spectacular

Is Uber even going to be different from OU? There's only three legends (four if you include Mew) available right now, and since only Mew can Dynamax to my knowledge they're not going to be able to benefit from this generation's big gimmick that literally everything else can do.
