Shart-rizard is proof Dynamax is not broken.

Shart-rizard is basically fire Gyarados.
>Hurricane into Max Airstram
>Max Flare sun power fire moves like Gyarados Max Geyser does for water
>Solar Power further boost offensive like Moxie to lesser extent
Yet Charizard remains horrible in competitive

Because charizard is far more crippled by stealth rocks than gyarados is. Also gyarados has higher attack than charizard has special attack, in addition to a little more bulk. Gyarados also gets access to dragon dance to boost its physical attack AND speed. Oh and as a physical attacker gyarados can abuse the choice band/max move gimmick.

The lesser extent part is a real issue. Solar power doesn't do nearly enough to get close to moxie boosts.

And then Charizard doesn't have that much of a threatening presence before/after dynamax because the only boost it would get is speed.

To be a broken dynamax user the mon must have some synergy going on in their max moves, like Gyarados/Hawlucha who get to boost offense stats and abuse their ability. Zard can't get his spa higher so it's on the mediocre side, as usual.
