>>41732911The thing you need to consider is that from their perspective, the game quality isn't deteriorating because the game quality CAN'T deteriorate - it's a Pokemon title, and because it has Pokemon written on it, it's God's gift to man by default. As long as it maintains it's classic formula, they're completely satisfied, and if they're satisfied, they perceive it as a good title, no nuance required. It's also why they can't really comprehend the notion of Pokemon games getting better, because all the features that would make it fuller and more expansive just aren't used by these sorts of people.
Also, by sucking corporate cock, they get to claim some form of moral high ground by giving off the impression of supporting a beaten-down company and demonstrating just how KIND and SUPPORTIVE they are, and how they're nothing like those HATERS. It's effectively a way to feel good about purchasing a product from a faceless corporation that doesn't care about you if it's not related to getting your money. And similarly related, some people honestly can't grasp the idea that you can be a fan of some media franchise but also criticize it, to them, a "true" fan just accepts everything without question.
Anyway, just give it 1-2 years after it's release date, you'll be able to shit on these games freely without anyone making as much of a racket, since they'll have already got their "fix" and will have already shelved their copy in preparation for the next release. Then the cycle will restart all over again, though the biggest fanboys will probably be even more defensive come the next hype cycle.
