I would always buy the other version when I got in the mood to play through it again. I didn't want to delete the file in my prime copy since it would've had all my resources, so I HAD to get another game in order to play through again. But with SwSh, all I need to do is just use a different profile on my Switch and I can play again, no extra purchase necessary.

Kids stopped playing pokemon after gen 2 where I lived, and it was very rural so I had no neighbors. Gen 3 required me to get all the games, but once the GTS was introduced it was back to one game for me.
