It had a meme league with 4 leaders instead of 8 except the trainers were mostly competent like that one chad with a Dragonite, and it had regional variants of pokemon with different patterns and traits, except most of the variants actually made sense and were well designed.
The crystal Onix in the OP was one example where it was an onyx that swam in water and was weak to fire, and everything jobbed to it and got absolutely fucked up
