Nah, Pokemon never gets these kinds of awards anyway, regardless of quality. It'll be Mario Maker 2 or DQ11, though personally I'd vote for Astral Chain.

Realistically, what will win? Fire Emblem should run away with it but I feel something like Mario Maker or the 1:1 Zelda remake will take it. Could be Pokemon, too.

It's fucking tetris though. It is literally just putting blocks in a line, it shouldn't be pitted against extensive 3D games that have years in development (not counting splishysplashieswooshiewhooshiepooshiekablooshiewhooshie which was probably made in 3 months). You can say the same about Mario Maker 2 as well.

I like FE3H but it really doesn't deserve GotY. It's graphically disgusting, clearly unfinished and it's (non blue lions) story is a mess. It's still a good game, it's not SS levels of bad but it clearly didn't have as much skill and effort put into it as some of the other games.

I think DQ11 should win. That game is probably the most polished, expertly crafted RPG to ever be released. I love LM3 but it needs more enemy veriety and better exploration in my opinion. Never played Astral Chain.

It's a literal 1:1 remake of a fucking gameboy game with less content. It doesn't deserve a fucking nomination.

Might as well just make a fucking remake of Ocarina of Time if you want to make a 10/10 game with literally no effort

It's a Platinum game with more focus on its own unique gimmick rather than the pure skill-based gameplay of previous Platinum games. It's just flashy and fun, hard to put into words. Watch some gameplay footage sometime.

Because they understand, unlike screaming dexcels, how much of a monumental task gamefreak has with the scope of their game. No other company on earth will try to tackle animating 1000+ individual creature animations along with 100+ npc animations. Actual gamemakers realize corners will have to be cut and things have to be worked smart if they hope to release a new gen every 2-3 years.

Oh, so that's why despite retailers in my area ordering more copies after it sold well in the area on the PS4, it still sold out on the Switch after 2 days. It turns out I wound up in Japan and have been loving the game there.

Not a smart idea. If you say Gamefreak and SS suck ass then Gamefreak and Nintendo (which are likely larger companies than you) are likely to do the same, which could hurt sales for both you and them. Not to mention there are many Pokemon and Nintendo fans, throwing shade at Gamefreak would result in a loss in sales from pissed off Pokemon fans. Also you have the gaming 'journalists' who will make a massive deal out of it and will probably paint you as the bad guy as you're the instigator and they get money from Nintendo and Nintendo fans so wouldn't want to take your side and jeopardize that.

Basically, you get nothing for calling out Gamefreak, but you risk finantal losses.
