Game Freak is and always has been 1000% aware that nobody would be happy with the decision considering they've been going to every length to implement every mon up to this point and hated having to cut the dex as much as anyone else. The fact they went so far as to modify RBY and GSC on the 3DS to connect with bank is proof enough of that.
The blunt truth of the matter is that there are too many of the damn things. And people overlook this every goddamn time but even though many models and attack animations and such are recycled every Pokemon in SWSH has new animations pertaining to moving around in camp and the overworld.
Does it still suck shit and should Game Freak be held accountable for their slap-dash development cycles? Yes. But when the message of the protest is just BRING BACK MUH BROS ;;_:; nothing will get done because it's not addressing the larger issues with how they develop Pokemon games.
