Dynamax Pokemon are immune to all weight-based moves, as well as forced switching effects (like Roar/Whirlwind and the secondary effect of Dragon Tail).

I wasn't even sure if you can even switch out a pokemon while they are dynamaxed until I saw someone do it online

Game Freak being too lazy to give everything another weight aside, it would be a bit broken if you could Low Kick a Dynamaxed Mudsdale or something with its weight multiplied by 10 but it couldn't Heavy Slam you back.

They're also immune to moves that remove items for some weird ass reason (incinerate, pluck, knock off). Why they couldn't just ignore the item-removal part I don't know...

Dyanamax are projections apparently, they don't actually grow (despite shaking the arena). Because of this their height changes but not their weight.

It's stupid. They're supposed to be projections. There's no reason not to let them work with the Dynamaxed Pokémon's real weight.

They did make heights. Though height doesn't have a gameplay function like weight does.

The reason given for this, both by Game Freak pre-release and in-game, is that the increased size is just an illusion caused by the Pokemon warping the space around it. The Pokemon hasn't actually gotten any bigger.

They're projections in the same way as a Green Lantern construct. They have mass, but no weight.

You'd be surprised at how many basic info signs are hidden in random ass places. The sign warning you not to catch another trainer's pokemon is at the lake by the professor's house... but only accessible after you unlock sea travel on the bike.
