It barely change, Drednaw's gigantamax form is just stand on feet and shrink its neck down. And add more spikes.
Drednaw look fine as final evo after the mess that is its pre-evo.

I feel the most this way about Duraludon. Expands on the building theme and even without super sizing you can tell it would be bigger. I seriously hate the base design but I like this thing so it makes me even sadder it’s not an evo.

Nah, Gigantamax has the same problem here as Megas did, most of them barely change the Pokemon's appearance (since they are just form changes and not new Pokemon entirely) so they wouldn't work as evolutions. Flapple, Duraludon, and Alcremie are the only ones that are really distinct enough, but even then Duraludon and Alcremie wouldn't really work well when scaled down to normal size.

I mean it's more of a pipe dream than anything. If they plan on ditching it in Gen 9 I'd rather them keep some of the designs I like. I kinda imagined it like Yokai Watch 2 which had some bosses from the first game as usable characters, and how they would scale those down

I think this works good as a third variant. Give Applin a soft apple and it evolves into this instead of Flapple or Appletun.

The thing that bothers me about the gmax form is that it looks way more like Applin than it does Flapple or Appletun. They both should have gotten their own gmax versions, or this one should have been exclusive to Applin.
However, as a third variant it would work so great!
