They're not going to cover up her tummy, gamefreak is absolutely fine with showing a 12-year-old's stomach so Gardenia's fine as she is. They'd probably just make her hair floofier, make her a little tan, turn the shorts into pants...idk there hasn't been enough gym leader redesigns for there to be some sort of pattern.
