It helps that the anime portrays their Wobbuffet as not being evil (not that the rest of the TR gang is evil, but they are admittedly mean sometimes) and he just goes along with their antics because it's fun. You can see he has the time of his life and he genuinely cares for Jessie.

True, but the main problem with her is the fucking lipstick, which makes her look older than she really is. If she just changed her hairstyle and got rid of the lipstick or at least just did only the bottom lip, she'd be set.

Because Wobbuffet is basically Jessie’s signature Pokémon while Mime Jr is just another in a growing list of small Pokémon James is given and is replaced after a while the likes of Chimecho, Yamask, Cacnea, Inkay and Mareanie. Also worth noting is that James hasn’t owned an evolved Pokémon since releasing Wheezing and its alway Jessie whose Pokémon evolves
