>>41775629Seconding this. It does some things differently, but I don't see it doing enough things differently. It's an RPG with a turn-based battle system. Each creature has four moves. Creatures evolve into other ones as they get stronger. There's a type chart. Two of the types are renamed versions of Psychic and Fighting, for fuck's sake - these aren't natural types to include. Even fighting-beats-normal is carried over.
Many of the changes it does make would be welcome in a Pokémon game - the combat improvements, in particular. But, as far as I can tell, it'll always just be a Pokémon knockoff. It doesn't do anything that Pokémon would never do, and there's nothing it would never do that Pokémon is already doing.
Fuck's sake, it doesn't even advertise itself using its creatures. It sells itself as Pokémon with a better combat system. A real Pokémon alternative would, at the very least, capture the same feeling that you get when you see a cool new 'mon. The "oh, shit, that one's cool! I wanna use it!" feeling. I don't see that from TemTem.
