Normies can't notice it though, in the same way they can't notice when they have a 4:3 tv show on Wide Zoom2 aspect ratio

You can hold the start button while starting up DS games on the 3DS and it'll be at the native DS resolution.
The black bars look kinda weird on the side, but you can either deal with it or have it look all stretched out and gross.

well it can look okay on pc since the screen is high enough res to scale properly and you can make the 3d stuff render at a higher quality, the 3ds has some weird 1.5x scaling

For 3d it's alright in some situations I guess. Specifically N64 looking slightly less garbage than it did on original console.

Gameboy color stuff looks fucking garbage though. No replacement for it being on the comfy original screen and individual pixels with the tiny gap between them.

what are you talking about man? DS resolution is 256 × 192 and 3DS plays them in 256 × 192 if you hold select on boot
