>>41789195I don't know what kind of music you play or what your general musical ambitions are but if you really want to play something that makes the instrument shine, try to play with a relatively high vocalist sometime, or one with a thin timbre, and explore the contrast you can create with them. this is particularly good to experiment with if you mostly play guitar focused music, because polyphonic and high gain guitar parts have a way of dominating bass lines and not giving you any room to breathe - if you play genres that favor other lead instruments, you might've already found more prominence in your parts
