Okay I dont know how Im doing things wrong but Ive been trying to breed a 6IV Shiny Larvitar and in the daycare I have a

All of the Larvitars are adamant, so I'm doing that right, but I haven't seen a single 6IV Larvitar in 20 eggs. And barely getting any 5IV Larvitars, about 3/20 of them are.
But I thought Destiny Knot guarantees at least 5IVs from the parent wearing it, and you'd get the other 3 ( or in this case, 1 ) from the other parent. So is there something wrong with what I'm doing?
