Northern wild area is called wild area 2 despite it being further away for some reason. One of the best location music tracks in the series, IMO.

If you want me to take your opinion seriously (regardless of whether you're defending or praising the OST), post a track you find to be subpar from the series, and post a different piece of VGM that you believe does its job better. The better your choice of replacement, the more seriously I'll take your opinion. I'll start.
GARBAGE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9h6wRuppAI - Given that you've just been told that Team Flare is about to nuke the world with the ultimate weapon, I don't understand the use of the laid back infiltration theme here. It's not a bad track without context (although i'd hesitate to call it good), but the situation is clearly demanding something a bit more urgent.

VERDICT: Sword/Shield's OST is garbage. Mixing is frequently poor, the style is incredibly bland, and the compositions are often uninspired. Only a tiny handful of tracks are worth the time spent listening to them, and those tracks aren't good enough to become favourites.

The worst part is that the way the compositions themselves are made are not half bad but they're often either terribly mixed or have instruments that just don't work. Even then, this is only assuming the compositions are original because from what I'm hearing, SWSH can sound painfully derivative. Leon doesn't even get a proper Champion theme and Bede has parts that are straight up stolen from PWT's final battle
