Why do people keep saying this?
Do people enjoy the annoyance of encountering Zubats and Gravelers every ten steps or using max repels and turn dungeons into another one more route?

When people say dungeons they dont only mean caves, places like Sylph Co, the electric plant, the the museum, the graveyard towers, victory road, etc...All of these places feel different and they added variety to the game, and because they are dungeons you are forced to stay in them for a certain amount of time and they become memorable because of this. New games are missing this.
