I liked SwSh. Music is good, the new pokemon are good, they actually stuck some difficulty in places. But fuck me is the story retarded. Rose's motives are fucking retarded.
Changing the story without changing TOO much, how about this instead?

Dynamax Powerspots are residual power from the fights between Eternatus and the Wolves in ancient times, they battled around Galar before they finally put it down. Macro Cosmos has learned how to harness it and cities that were fortunate to be built upon one of these ancient battlegrounds recieve a source of clean energy. Unfortunately for Spikemuth it doesn't have that option, and while the Dynamax energy is easy to use and harness on the spot it's incredibly costly to actually transport it long distance. The problem is, it's not renewable, it's finite, and it's draining fast. The dynamaxing which has made Galar's league internationally renowned, the energy powering it's greatest cities, it's not gonna last. But Rose has an idea. Capture Eternatus, the producer of the power. Make it an everlasting energy source. And to do that, he needs to instigate the Darkest Day. He sets off the powerspots as he does in the game, waking Eternatus up from its long sleep, with the intention of capturing it. He jobs, like a fucking idiot, and Eternatus goes batshit, story here plays out the same.

But Sordward and Shielbert are the ones who told Rose about Eternatus, the truth behind the Darkest Day being a family secret after all. They did it to get a seat at Macro Cosmos' table, because the Galarian royal family has fallen into irrelevence in modern times, and Macro Cosmos is essentially the entity Galar pays fealty to. With Eternatus exposed to the world in the end they need to cover their family's arses, capture the wolves to hide the truth.
