>>41805092Visually, it's not really got anything going for it. There's a reason people call it a traffic cone with a hey arnold head, and that's because it's just got this really bland and static silhouette with that big flat blotch of red on the dress. And those orange patches around the leg? They don't do a lot to alleviate the problem while also looking really gaudy. Doesn't help that it has this really long torso with short legs that would presumably be just like Braixen's, see just how low down the tail is. It also took the ear hair gimmick way too far. Yeah, fennecs have a lot of ear fluff and it's a cute way to emulate fire but Delphox just goes way beyond where it needed to go to and results in this disgustingly bushy mess around its face. Also, due to the legs being obscured by its dress and just how lanky the design is overall it ends up a lot less dynamic than Braixen. Imagine being an artist/animator and putting them in different poses and scenarios, Braixen lends itself so much better to a much larger variety of things.
As far as the theme goes, it really regresses from Braixen mostly as a result of the lack of dynamism. Braixen gets its point across easy and it's easy to visualise it doing what it's intended to do. Delphox, not so much. The decision to hide its stick in its sleeves just really hurts it and even just looks awkward when Delphox has to pull it out/put it back in. Again, it makes Braixen get the point across easier because you can see at all times what it's meant to be while Delphox only looks the part some of the time and really has to go out of its way to do so.
And this isn't really relevant, but lot of people like to excuse people liking Braixen over Delphox as "hurr durr u only like it cuz u want to fuck it" whereas honestly outside of people who really like wizards and mages I don't see why anyone would prefer Delphox beyond wanting to fuck it because it looks more mature.
