If that one pokemon, or in the case of other RPGs, character always got to move first without any contestors, then the fucking game is just gonna circle around EXACTLY that. In Cyber Sleuth online, that's the one single issue that plagues the whole meta, Ulforceveedramon always gets to go first and thus, it centralizes on having him. He's not even particularly good offensively either, he's the definition of just passive support
I get that you and OP hate having to think even a little and guess what is and is not scarfed, but please fucking just think you retard...

Choice Scarf renders some Pokémon, like Jolteon -- whose only leg up on everyone else is its blistering speed -- completely useless. It removes a subset of very fast Pokémon from competitive play that would otherwise see abundant use. And many of those Pokémon have to be fan favorites.

Jolteon was OU in DP and BW, both generations that had Choice Scarf. Its issue is it has a garbage movepool that got worse this generation, and that better fast mons like Dragapult or Greninja exist now.

I haven't played competitively in over ten years, not since the DP metagame. That was when things like Choice Scarf and Life Orb were introduced, I'm just speaking about why I personally dislike them from a time when I did encounter them on a regular basis. I'm sure a lot has changed since then, but one of the reasons why I got tired of competitive and stopped playing in the first place was because of things like Choice Scarf, Life Orb, and Choice Specs, giving Pokémon kills they otherwise would never be able to get. That's just my perspective on it.
