So I finally got Sword and Shield. This is my first mainline Pokémon game and I noticed that you can’t get specific candies for Pokémon. Am I missing something? How do I get Grookey candies for instance so I can level up specific stats for AVs? The last game I was getting them after every catch and by sending my extras to the professor.

Yeah AVs and candies are not in these games. There are bottle caps that raise something called IVs though.

Candies are only in the Go spinoff games. You can however get candies to level up your little guys from max raid battles in the wild area.

I don’t know. It doesn’t seem that bad so far. It seems it’s made for kids so I can see a lot of the hardcore aspects from Go not being there. I looked up the art styles of the previous games just now and they all look like they’re meant for kids actually.

i'm gonna give this to you straight, almost no poketubers are of that much help (although i'm probably drawing a blank on some, i'm sure a couple anons here have decent suggestions), but verlis is probably the worst of the entire bunch.

You don't get candies for specific Pokemon or Pokemon lines, the candies you get in this game just level up your Pokemon. Which in general is just better all around since it's universal.

The games have only been getting worse each installment. Almost all assets are recycled, and they couldn't even bother to recycle hundreds of fan favorite pokemon, that they already have. There are tons of graphical errors, and yes soft locks. There also is a problem where the game could brick your console. That's just the tip of the ice berg.
